We understand the critical role rebar plays in construction. Rebar, or reinforcing bar, is essential for enhancing the tensile strength of concrete, which is otherwise prone to cracking under tension. Though we only offer carbon steel rebar and galvanized rebar, you should be aware of your options when selecting the right rebar for your project.

Types of Rebar

European Rebar: Known for its economic advantage, European rebar is composed primarily of manganese, which makes it less resistant to bending. Its application is ideal for projects where budget constraints are paramount and seismic activity is not a concern.

Carbon Steel Rebar: Ubiquitous in construction, carbon steel rebar, or "black" rebar, is favored for its versatility and strength. However, it is vulnerable to environmental elements that can cause corrosion, leading to potential structural issues over time.

Epoxy-Coated Rebar: A layer of epoxy on carbon steel rebar significantly bolsters its defense against corrosion. The protective coat is sensitive to impact and abrasion, necessitating careful handling during transportation and construction phases.

Galvanized Rebar: Galvanized rebar is a robust contender in corrosion resistance. Its zinc coating is tougher than epoxy, making it suitable for more demanding environments. The cost is higher, but the extended lifespan can justify the initial investment.

Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Polymer (GFRP): For projects where corrosion could be a deal-breaker, GFRP rebars present a non-metallic alternative. They are immune to rust and extremely light, which can contribute to overall cost savings in terms of transportation and labor.

Stainless Steel Rebar: The premium choice for rebar, stainless steel stands out for its exceptional resistance to corrosion and ability to withstand extreme environments. While its price point is higher, its use in critical structures or aggressive environments can offer long-term value.
